We started with this ... our compost. First we worked it into our garden.
Then we planted some strawberry plants given to us by a friend who was thinning hers out. The kids are super excited hoping to eat yummy strawberries when spring and summer come again. Reesie helped divide the plants handing me one at a time from the bucket and Hank helped dig and build mounds around the plant. They both liked finding bugs as well. We found 3 worms which we placed near the plants so they could "poop" and feed the plants as Hank said. We also found 2 spiders. After a few minutes of work Reesies hands got cold and stayed in her pockets the rest of our outside time.

The finished work. Hopefully we will get some yummy berries ... Next project is to build a wire covering to keep the bunnies away. Now that Nash isn't around they love to come and play. The ate all our snap peas this year!
